Types of Service
Wi-Fi Hotspot
For users who simply want to connect to Wi-Fi to retrieve emails and messages and very basic web surfing.
Each user is provisioned a 30+ Mbps connection, however speed is limited by the mobile devices which typically have a maximum range of 75-100 feet in Wi-Fi, at these ranges, speed will be reduced significantly. This is why these networks are considered best effort networks. If you are in a boat, the lower you are and more boats between you and the access point, the slower the speed and quality of connection.
Users are required to login regularly with each devices.
Wi-Fi Hotspot
with Fixed Hardware
For customers looking to get a more reliable connection for streaming applications.
The fixed hardware creates a private local network on your boat with its own dedicated router and station receiver which creates a high powered link from your location to the nearest access point, decreasing the latency and dramatically improving the quality of your connection.
There are two types of home routers a very basic 2.4Ghz router or you can select a dual band 2.4Ghz and 5.8Ghz home router with additional ports to plug in other network hardware.
Users are required to login through their router via a mobile device every few days. All other devices will then simply connect to the Wi-Fi and go straight out to the web.
"Always On" with Fixed Wireless
For some users they require an "Always on" connection for a variety of different types of devices. Security cameras, Wi-Fi thermostats, boat sensors. or simply want the convenience of not having to login in every few days.
